La Dirección de Gestión Ambiental, Salubridad e Higiene del Municipio de Riobamba, desarrolla al momento protocolos y planes de contingencia que abarcan varios procedimientos de carácter preventivo, enfocados a precautelar la salud de los riobambeños.
En este sentido, se cumplen de manera permanente mecanismos de desinfección, por aspersión y termonebulización, otorgando cobertura a varios espacios públicos y privados, como: casas de salud, dispensarios médicos, hospitales, instalaciones de la función judicial, los diferentes ministerios.
Los mercados de la ciudad están contemplados dentro de un proceso integral de desinfección, al igual que las baterías sanitarias, cementerio y camal municipal.
La totalidad del sistema de contenerización y las calles de la zona urbana y rural están siendo atendidas en atención a cronogramas estructurados.
Estos trabajos son ejecutados diariamente a fin de que estas campañas de desinfección sean sostenibles y que causen los efectos deseados. “Todos los productos empleados son amigables con la salud de las personas, los animales y no causan ninguna afectación al ambiente. Esto garantiza la salud preventiva de los riobambeños”, dijo Carlos Jara, director de Higiene.
